Terms of Use

These terms cover the Planina App mobile app and the planina.app website. They are short on purpose. Read the safety section even if you skip the rest.

Acceptance

By installing or using Planina App you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.

The service

Planina App is a free companion app for Kopaonik, Zlatibor and Stara planina. It shows a map of pistes, lifts and ski roads, a route planner, lift status, weather, webcams, places, news and comments. There are no ads and no payments in the app, and no part of it is behind a paywall.

The app is a guide, not an official source and not a piece of safety equipment. We may add, change or remove features, and we may stop offering the service, without owing you anything for it.

Accounts

The map, the lifts, the weather, the news and reading comments need no account. You sign in only to be guided turn by turn, to write a comment or to vote on one.

  • You sign in with a link sent to your email address. There is no password, so keep your mailbox safe.
  • You have to be at least 16 to create an account.
  • An account is for one person. You are responsible for everything done and posted from yours.
  • Give a real email address. We use it to sign you in and to reach you about your account.

User content and moderation

Comments you write on places and news articles are public inside the app. Anyone can read them, with or without an account.

What you write stays yours. By posting it you give us permission to store it and show it inside the app and on our site, for as long as it is there. You promise you have the right to post it.

  • Comments are moderated by the Planina team.
  • A comment reported by several users is hidden while we review it.
  • We may remove any comment and suspend any account that breaks these terms, and we do not have to explain every decision in detail.
  • You can delete your own comments in the app at any time.

Acceptable use

Do not use Planina App to:

  • Insult, threaten or harass anyone, or post hateful content.
  • Post spam, or advertise a business without agreeing it with us first.
  • Post false information about safety, closures or conditions on the mountain.
  • Pretend to be someone else, or post someone else's personal data.
  • Scrape our data, copy the map content, reverse engineer the app, or put load on our servers with automated requests.
  • Break the law, or anything a ski centre has posted as a rule.

Safety disclaimer

The mountain is dangerous and the app does not change that.

  • Ski and hike within your ability, and check the conditions yourself before you drop in.
  • Signs, ropes, barriers and the ski patrol always come before anything the app shows. A piste the app draws as open may be closed on the ground, and the ground wins.
  • The route planner draws lines over lifts, pistes and ski roads. It does not judge avalanche risk, visibility, ice, crowds or your own condition.
  • Do not rely on your phone as your only way of calling for help. Batteries die and coverage runs out.

You are responsible for your own safety and for the safety of anyone you bring with you.

Data sources and accuracy

Lift status and weather station readings come from Skijališta Srbije. Forecasts come from a weather provider. Map tiles, terrain and routing come from Mapbox. Webcam images and streams come from their own providers. Our backend refreshes what it can on a schedule.

All of it is informational. It can be wrong, out of date, incomplete or missing entirely, either because a source was wrong or because a refresh failed. We do not guarantee that anything the app shows is correct at the moment you read it. When it matters, check with the ski centre.

Intellectual property

The app, this website, the name Planina App, the logo, the design and the content we produce belong to us. Data from third parties belongs to whoever owns it and is shown under their terms. You may use the app for yourself, but you may not copy it, resell it, or reuse its content in another product without our written permission.

Termination

You can stop using the app whenever you like. Delete it, and ask us to delete your account as described in the Privacy Policy.

We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and remove the content posted from it.

Liability

Planina App is provided as is, with no warranty of any kind. We do not promise it will be available, free of errors, or accurate.

As far as the law allows, we are not liable for injury, loss or damage that follows from using the app or from a decision you made on the basis of what it showed you, including lift status, weather, piste conditions, a planned route or a place that turned out to be closed. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded under the law of the Republic of Serbia.

Changes

We may change these terms. The new version goes on this page with a new date at the top, and if the change is important we also say so in the app. Using the app after a change means you accept the new version.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Serbia. Any dispute goes to the courts of the Republic of Serbia. If you are a consumer, this does not take away rights you have under the law of the country where you live.
